So about 2 weeks ago i noticed these tiny starfish looking things on my glass. I would put up a pic but my cam isn't working. They are very small and white, with spindly arms. They are maybe slightly larger than the head of a pen, and are quite numerous on the glass so im assuming they are other places as well.
Now this past friday i noticed one of my zoa colonies not opening. I moved it as i thought it was maybe getting too much light. It appears to be doing better today, but now one of my larger colonies is completely closed. All my parameters are completely fine, and i have not changed or added anything to my tank recently. Zoas have always thrived in my tank and i have never seen anything like this before. Could these startfish looking things be eating my zoas?!

Hard to say with out a good pic. Sounds like you have hydroids on the glass. Hard to say about the zoas without that pic.

Why don't people have these more? They eat algae right?

Lucky guess, it was the first thing that came to mind. The rarely survive if ever in our aquariums.
