I absolutely love the concept of Thrive Aquatics' Water Lab. The Thrive Water Lab is a self-contained water analysis testing machine soon to be found in fish stores late this summer. The Thrive Water Lab will test saltwater, freshwater and even pond water. Not only will it print out the results of the tests, but it will create a profile for you and give you dosing recommendations based on the results.

Would you use the Thrive Water Lab if it were in your local fish store? Let us know in the poll below.

Thrive Aquatics is finalizing the designs on the revolutionary Thrive Water Lab ™.

The Water Lab ™ is a self-contained water analysis testing machine designed for local brick and mortar retail stores. The machine will be able to test freshwater, saltwater, reef and pond water parameters, 20+ tests overall per machine. The Water Lab ™ will be used by hobbyists thru a customized user interface on the touch screen, allowing retail stores to focus on livestock husbandry and more time for better customer service. The Water Lab will store a customer's profile and parameters, and provide customized dosing regiments and equipment maintenance tasks. The onboard printer will print the results. The proprietary method of dispensing and reading the water sample will eliminate cross contamination fears.

The Thrive Water Lab ™ is set to be released late summer 2013.

For those injterested, here are the projected test to be preformed.

    Freshwater and Saltwater
    Ammonia
    Color of Water
    Nitrate
    Nitrite
    Phosphate
    Copper
    KH
    PH
    Salinity
    Potassium

    Saltwater only
    Magnesium
    Calcium
    Iodide

    Freshwater only
    GH

Even I would go to the LFS if this was offered at a reasonable rate. IMO, It's really hard to make a commitment until we know the costs to the hobbyist.

I voted yes, but it would definitely depend on the cost.

OOpps, skimmed over it too fast, sorry!

Look at that, I'm the only NO vote so far!

I have nothing against this product, test, whatever.

But I was asked would I use it if it was at my lfs, and for me, probably not, not usually anyways.
