    so octopi are natural preditors of the mantis shrimp?

    from my research they seem to be predators of each other. A larger mantis will eat a smaller octopus, and a larger octopus will eat a smaller mantis.

    I got one actually. I also have a Caribbean rock mantis (N. Wennerae). He is a cool little pet, you may want to think about setting up a little tank for yours. They don't need much, just sand, rock, water, and food.
