After my recent mishap with an expired API test kit, I am in the market for a new one and preferrably a new brand. LFS says salifert if I can afford it but at almost 20 bucks a pop for each parameter I dont think I can foot the bill. The next one he suggested was the Instant Ocean Master Reef Kit. He said to stay away from API. What does everyone think? And what do you use yourself?

    API are good test kits.

I have been using some of the Seachem kits, not quite as expensive as Salifert.

All kits will expire whether it is stated or not, probably within 2 years of manufacture.

BSWEEZY dipstick is the worst testing method due to inconsistency of manufacture. I would strongly suggest going to all liquid test kits.

API-easy to use, pretty accurate and inexpensive. Salifert when I really want to know.
