When did All-Glass brand tanks start using tempered glass tank bottoms? I have a All-Glass 55 gal, the sticker on the bottom of the tank says DATE BUILT Nov. 1987. I would like to drill the bottom of this tank. I have another 55 gal. that was built in 2000 and has a DO NOT DRILL sticker on it. it warns Tempered glass. Thanks

AGA start using tempered about 15 yrs ago maybe longer ? then they brought out Oceanic and if you want a new oceanic you can order that with a un tempered bottom. I'd just drill the rear panel myself I never trust a bottom unless I ordered it like oceanic I have here now .. I drilled one that I was told per the factory that it was totally drill able LOL they never even said my bad LOL all I had after the explosion was a pile of tempered glass LOL
But if its not stickerd tempered then have a go at it.. 55's are cheap enough just hope the sticker was not removed :)
