I guarantee you it is worth every penny.
How long does the amazon item lasts for, in amount of gallons you can produce, before you need to change it? Also, spectrapure has good sales. Just wait for AZDR's post for the specials.

Think about it as an investment. RO or RO/DI is a must for a healthy reef tank IMO.

The descriptions on amazon are there so you buy it :). It is just a deionizer. It has no sediment filter. Since you are not prefiltering through a sediment filter, carbon block and RO first the resin in that filter will be used up very fast.

As long as it's a minimum 4 stage RO/DI unit it should be much better than tap water. You can get a TDS meter to check and see if the RO unit is functioning properly.

This one sounds better than the one you were originally inquiring about. One thing to take into consideration is the price of the replacement membrane, pre-filter, carbon block etc, before you buy it, and put it against other competitors. If you're wanting to save money right now, this can work. I'm more of a long run saver. What seems to be a great deal now, can be a bad call once you've given it a cold headed thought.

Try doing that. Find out how much do the replacements cost and put them up against a full size RO/DI 100 gpd unit from spectrapure, for example. That will show you whether you're getting into a good deal or a too good to be true deal.

If you absolutely need to buy one now, I wold go with the last one you suggested though. It seems to have all the necessary stages. Question is: How long can you have it before needing replacement cartridges?
