tank with no heat or powerheads for 3 days

ok well i think we ha a power surge and now i have no heater and no flow in my 26 gallon mixxed reef. the tank pemp is down to 72 F how long would i be ok. im 14 and i dont have a penny to spend i will get 15 dollers on sunday so what should i buy first. im relly freaking out the tank is a year old.

 

Flow is probably more important than heat. I would ask your parents for a loan to replace the pump and heater. Let them know how important they both are to the health and success of the aquarium.

 

72 is okay. As long as it wasn't a drastic change they should be fine. I would definitely get the flow back going before anything. 20 bucks for a powerhead is a lot cheaper than losing the entire tank. While you're waiting..get a pitcher and scoop up some water and slowly pour it back in the tank to keep things aerated.

agreed! you can do this as many times as you want...itll help ALOT!!

 

no heat for 3 days shouldnt be a problem, just think of it as a cold front moving in on the reef...but i will tell you that flow is the MOST important

 

ok i just showed her this and she said ok we will buy a new pump and then later ill buy another one for more random flow again
