My opinion is to just let your tank heat back up slowly.. Putting the tang in normal temp water would cause more shock and probably kill him. You'll have to just hope he comes around. Good luck.

Yellow tang currently being treated for ich and has been making big improvements. But today looks real bad. Heater has been on about 30 mins now and temp has raised to 66 degrees. Hot water in a ziplock bag to raise it a little faster maybe???

If its at 66 degrees, then no i wouldnt..66 degrees is pretty safe for a fish. it will be anot 5 or so minutes before it gets upto 71 or so..then it will be safe..

Again I am afraid catching him is going to cause more stress and more harm than good. Plus if I raise temp too fast wont that kill the fish too?

I think maybe I am going to add some ziplock bags of hot water to the tank. I will just let them float. Anybody see this as being bad???? The heater appears to be raising the temp 1 degree every 30 mins.

Yes he is still in the tank. Still swimming. Lethargic and has turned brown.

Forget about catching the fish, he will be okay in 66 degrees for a bit.

Besides, isnt at like 70 by now?

A heater would cause less stress than the water change. Leave it the way it is and keep observing.

No the tank is still 66 degrees. I made a typo when I said the temp was 58 in my first post. I meant 65. I keep it at 75-77. So a 10-12 degree drop. The heater is raising the temp as best I can tell 1 degree every 30 mins. There is no current in the tank. Only a sponge filter.
