I am not exactly sure what is going on..We have had the 72 up for almost two years now. Everything has flourished in this tank up until about 3 weeks ago. First we had two small orange plate montipora that grew to the size of frisbies. We sold one and the other is now bleached out. A few of our LPSs are not extending their polyps, others are. I do have one leather that is shriviled to about a quater of its original size, and I am wondering if this has anything to do with it. I am running carbon. The bottom line is that the tank just does not look the same as it did 3 weeks ago. The fish , Invertebrae, and anemone are doing fine...
    Sg 1.026
    Calc 410
    Alk 14.0
    Phosphate .002
    Nitrates 10
    Ph 8.1
Lighting 8 54w T5's(Swapped them out over a period of a few weeks a while back
TDS in the RO/DI top off water is less then .01

    Any ideas???

could be chemical warfare, leathers and button polyps emit a chemical that doesnt play well with others.

do you have fuge?, skimmer?, gfo?
    do you do water changes?
do you have any pests i.e. flatworms? nudi?
    what are your par readings?
    do you use supplements?

    Thanks for the response guru

    skimmer? Yes(Tunze 9015),
do you do water changes? Yes 15-20% every week
do you have any pests i.e. flatworms? nudi? No

what are your par readings? That I don't know and was thinking it might be part of the problem. I actually just ordered a new light fixture 500watts Halide and 108 watts actinic lighting

do you use supplements? Calcium/Alkalinity(B-ionice), Magnesium, Iodide and a phosphate reducer...Test for all..I run carbon as well

ok. them MH's will stress them out from what i hear around here,,for a few days anyway...so i would wait a bit to put them on untill these guys look good,,bleached is not a good sign. just IMO.

    I'm reading 1.026 is high should be 1.023-1.025 "min-max"

ALK shouldn't matter too much IMO but it's high also range is 8-12dkh

nitrate should be less then 1ppm 0.2ppm for Lps?

but what's your Nitrite? should be none.

    good luck,
    Mike

The readings I have given have been more or less the same for nearly 2 years, only started having problems about 3 weeks ago...I am starting to think either chemical warfare or lighting...

Well true,,you do say you have more coral then you can list. I'll assume that's in one tank.
