    Mirroring the back will reflect back close to 100% of the light that would normally be "lost." If you think about it, water and glass have a very reflective nature. Putting a mirror on the back will reflect the light that would normally pass through. If I remember right, you lose about 5% of the light with no backing, so you won't be gaining much with a mirror. I tried looking for the article last night but couldn't find it. I found it when I was looking for a PAR meter, by accident.
