I am prefacing my advice by saying I have never fragged something in my life. I once attempted to frag a xenia and I mutilated it.

Can you re-frag it really close to the base? And attach it to a plug or rock that you want?

You should be able to use a razor blade or fragging scalple and pop the frag off the plug pretty easily.

That would allow you to glue the frag directly to your LR.

Alternatively, I saw pics where one 3Reefer drilled holes in the rock the size and shape of the plugs so they were barely visible once in place.

FWIW, SPS corals usually encrust the plug with their colorful flesh and polyps, and LPS simply cover it with the base of their skeleton. Either way, they shouldn't be visible after a few week's growth.
