    what can i grow with 3 t8 bulbs? 2 10000k and 1 420 actinic. i know i cant grow sps.

    From what I remember, there was a general consensus that 3-4 T8s would grow most softies and some LPS such as Acans, Chalices...

    well sure, enough of any type pf light can grow corals, flourescent even. but that doesnt mean ets efficient.

    Again, this is not about efficiency or better choices, these people both have T8s and want to use them. Are there better choices? Defineatly.

    I will agree that many soft corals will do OK under T8
    this picture is from 2006
    and the 2 tanks in the background, both lit by 2 twin T8s lamps
    2 x Actinic O3 and 2 x 10K - Sylvannia brand lamps in both cases

    those corals seemed to be doing OK to me
    the young man is Alan, and he was 4 ish at the time
    he is 9 now

    I only had 2 spare lamps in those days
    I reckon I have 20 or more next to the cabinet now

    i have another t8 fixture thats 2 bulbs that i will be upgrading to t5s but for now would 2 10000ks be better then 1 10000k and 1 actinic?
