Currently running a 90gal setup with a Coralife 260 watt. The new system is a TEK 8 Bulb T5-HO with 2 Actinic 03, 3 Aqua Blue's and 3 Pure Actinics 10k. I have a bunch of softies so i am wondering what should be the process of adding my new lighting to the tank. I am running timers so it should be fairly easy. Just wondering timing?

Are you planning on hanging the fixture?

If so, you can start it high up, with less bulbs on, then slowly turn more bulbs on and lower it.

I am building a custom canopy to house the giant since it is 1" wider than my tank. It should be interesting!

Well, as of right now i do see a little extra growth of green algae on the rocks...but my corals are looking wonderful. One neon green acro that with my other lights turned brown is coming back very quickly. Im still not sure whether or not im going to take the 6500k out yet. I might wait a few months and see if the algae continues to grow.

I don't think I will be adding that in for I have a great amount of algae growing on my front glass due to my sun roof's. I have towels during the day trying to stop the light from hitting my tank and so far it has been doing a good job. I just have to plan to move my tank to another location.
