I think you want something like that at least. If you can get your hands on some before you buy it test the flex and see if you think it will work with the rock you are looking to suspend. If you can and I am guessing what you are trying to do you might also be able to use the rod between the main formation and the suspended piece.

Oh this is a good Idea. I take it you mean to sort of weave and cross the suspending acrylic rods with other rods in the opposite direction?

This may complicate things... I decided I want an orange spotter goby, which means I need to have a lid. So now how would I go about building this frame if I have a lid on my tank?

Or drill holes in both pieces and insert rods in.

Buy some bird netting or clear netting and make a cover from it to keep the goby in the tank. Then you won't need to abandon the frame idea.

Getting a lid won't be a problem(I was going to get a 48" All-Glass lid), but what will be is having the lid while still haveing a frame to hold the rock. The lid will be in the way.

You can build a net lid that sits on top of the tank frame instead of where a glass lid would sit. This will keep the fish in and allow you to create a frame for the suspended rock.

I don't know. I want to do this. Though I'm pretty set on getting an All-Glass Aquarium lid. This greatly reduces water evaporation and restricts fluctuation of temp.

I'll take a picture of it next time I'm at that store. I guess I'll have to ask them how they did it.

Sorry if I'm hassling anyone; I just want to do this right.
