I'm thinking about making a small surface viewer this weekend so I can take a picture of my clam from top view, and to look at the stuff in my tank. I haven't really seen anyone other than frag sellers use these things. Do you guys think they are uneeded or just haven't given any thought to using these things?

It would be cool to do one DIY. Personally, I just turn my pumps off ;)

OK I will make one this weekend. If I have enough acrylic left over, I'll make an extra or two. :)

The one good LFS I go to has one and it works great. Just a black acrylic box with a clear bottom.

I am excited to see how this turns out. I have always wanted one but just don't want to pay as much as they are asking for them at the stores. I also have some acrylic scraps laying around so I might give it a try too. Thanks for the idea.
