Sunbrite Lighting has a new LED aquarium light - the Gen3 T10 LED hood - coming out in a few months. The Gen3 is a nice aluminum fixture with built in controller that was built specifically for the new Sunbrite 3W CREE XP-G LED tubes that are coming out. This lights are powerful. Just two 18" tubes put out 169 PAR at 24" and the Gen3 can hold 8 tubes! Sunbrite will have 20" - 72" Gen3 fixtures available from only $200 - $300. That is a good thing because the Sunbrite XP-G tubes will start at $200 each.

That is a very interesting concept. Do you know if you will be able to customize which LEDs come in the tubes, or do they already great options for different color spectrums?

Sticksmith, I am not sure on that. But, being that they will be sold in strips/tubes, I think there will probably be a variety of colors to choose from, similar to what is available (as far as color choices) with Ecoxotic stunner and panorama strips.

Yes definitely, with 1 10K and 1 actinic T10 we are getting about 150Par on a 30" tank. With 4 Gen3 tubes you pretty much can put anything in there including SPS and clams. If it just going to be LPS or Soft corals you can go with 3.
