I am looking to buy a new sump. I would like to know some opinions on the best sump for a 100 to 120 gallon tank.

I always see the trigger system but what else is out there to compete with that quality of a build and that quality performance

A lot depends on the space you have to work with and what will fit. You may consider building your own. It is very simple to do. I would think a 40B would work well for that size tank.

DYI - Petco has $1 gallon on sale. Get a 40B and build it!

I agree that a decent sump product can be VERY pricey. If you have the $ to spend- good on ya.
But even sturdy plastic bins, tubs, stock tanks, etc. can be used.
    I'm currently using my former DT- it's a 125.
I didn't put any fixed baffles in, just a bin to keep my skimmer level constant.
    It works awesome.
The 40b seems to work well for many as a sump too.

I've built mine in the past with stock tanks. I'm about to build another out of acrylic since I broke mine twice due to my own errors. Next reef has a few nice ones as well. Melev's reef is another builder.

If you're leaning towards buying one rather than diy, I love my ProFlex. I have the Model 3 on my 75 gal, and my Diablo skimmer fits in there nicely. I believe they make one size larger that I think would be perfect for you :)

If you trying to save money a sump is very easy to build. I use a 55 gallon tank for a sump on my 125. I have 3 chambers of baffles to separate things and to have bubble traps.

Look on craig's list for a used acrylic tank in bad scratch condition and you'll get it for a bargain.
