Resolved Stringy hair like thing on my clam?

    So I just picked up my new Deresa clam, and the lights are shut off (moonlights on), and I see a stringy thing (sort of hairlike) coming from my clam.
    Good? Bad? What is it?
    Also how much should the clam be closed at night?
    These things might not be urgent, but sometimes I just get really worried

    Hmmmmm...I guess that explains the one coming from the actual clam, but there were also a few little ones coming from the top edge of the mantle.

    is it coming out from the mantle? because I never experinced that, does it look like the same string stuff thats coming out from clams mouth? if so it might of just gotten some on him self. Thats just my imagination because I never had string come out from mantle..

    Yeah they appear to be coming from the mantle, but they are only like 1/4 of an inch long. I can also only see about three strings. They dont seem to be an issue though...probably just poop.Thanks again!

    No they are too small and colorless. They really do not seem to be doing anything. Most of them are gone today too :)
    The clam looks happy so I am not going to worry about it. I think M was right about the poop ;) That is probably just what it is. If the clam is happy, I am happy ;)
