I just noticed something wierd today in my tank.

The front glass panel is covered with tiny little insects of some kind...

They are really really small, I thought they were just grains of sand stuck to the glass but I looked closer and some of them move about...

What are they? Should I try and get rid of them?

If they are white and about the size of a needles eye then they're most likely a harmless type of snail...we'll see what others say.

my guess would be the same as matts, copepods. which are definitely good to have. a food source for some fish.

+1 on likelihood of pods. These are good things - free fish food.

Not sure if they are copepods...don't look the same.

They are pretty small so hard to photograph...fortunately i'm a professional photographer so here's a close up pic:

Ugh. Those are flat worms I think.
I had those. They reproduce like mad.
    They like low-current areas.
I stuck a Tunze turbelle pump in my tank and they were nearly gone after that.

I already have a pump circling water from the other side. I've angled it a bit lower now...

Is there another way to get rid of them?

More pumps or stronger ones. Eliminate as many dead spots as possible.
Buy flatworm exit (personally I'd go the circulation route first) and then (if using exit) turn off skimmer for a while.
