stowaway barbs

    recently had a batch of fry that seemed to have pin tails..and a few with deformed spines. I really should be culling those but dont have the heart. I think I'll need to get some oil of cloves to euthanase them so at least it will be humane

    I think thats what happens when you get breeding stock from pet shops, they're all so inbred already and the fry sometimes comes out that way as well

    its the nice way of saying killing the ones that don't meet your standards.

    ahh that sux!! why not find a pond or stream nearby and let em go?

    theres enough pest species in riverways as it is..

    Theres a floating pontoon at a river near my house and two massive oscars live under there, someone must have released them at some point...they are just HUGE

    i live in virginia the winter would kill them anyway. and or rivers aren't clean by any standards. i don't think i have ever seen a fish in the james river.


    edit: i had my biology teach tell me once after running test on the water you would be better off eating dirt.

    i say some guppies that arent quite right are better than a snakehead anyday...
