still no life

Well my tank as been up and running for well over a month now and I still don;t see any signs of life in my sand. Should I buy a seeding kit or give it more time? I know have what I think are pods on my glass

 

Well pods are good! That and the bacteria are key. That is all I had and it worked well.

But these days, a lot of people follow Dr. Shimek's advice and stick lots of creepy crawlies in the sand. I have done otherwise with success - there are many other variables involved that are important for success. It is not just what is in the sand.

That said, I would probably at least consider it if I had the cash. Check out IPSF.com. I think Karla knows another place too, maybe she can jump in here.

With time you should see more stuff, esp as you add other things to your tank as some will probably have some hicthhikers.

if your not seeing any life maby you could get a piece of lr locally and fully cured you could get lots of life from that. also the fauna or detrivore kits could help. i got one from IA

also the big difference is the det kit has bristle worms where the fauna has more pods and mysis shrimp.
the other place is ISPF havent bought anything from them but heard they are pretty good also

the fauna kit from IA i was happy with got pods, mysis shrimp, mini brittle and micro stars, peppermint and stomatella snails. and got trochus snails as an extra item. they have a entire list of other stuff that you can buy extra or seperately check them out
