steps in quarintine to deparasite corals.

    hey im new to quarenitining corals, i only used to do fish. but as my tank has evolve into more of a reef i want to start making sure the corals are parasite and disease free. so what do you do when getting a new coral?

    I dip the corals in a mixture or salt water, lugols, flatworm exit and Hakari Prazi pro then put in a quarentee tank for at least a week.

    Bump for the question and the answer! I usually keep mine in the quarantine tank until I notice growth, if params are right you should see some growth in 1-3 weeks unless it's a species that is notably slow growing. I use the time to acclimate them to the lighting schedule that the DT is on and make sure that there aren't any parasite eggs. FE will kill the adults but the eggs can take up to 3 weeks to hatch. Get out the magnifying glass if you need to.
