    Hi everyone,

So I think today I am going to take the plunge. It's time to start up the 30 gallon first SW tank. I've got the tank just holding SW right now for about a week so everything could get evened out and re-oxygenated. Hopefully the attached images will work for everyone. I have questions to everyone's input at the bottom.

    The tank has been

    Specs:

    • Tank: 36L x 12W x 16H
    • 2 Penguin 660 powerheads: 2(170) GPH - one has Hydor 360 deflector attachment (oh and if anyone was wondering how to attach these to a Penguin powerhead, like I was, the answer: screw it on, really, really hard.)
    • 1 Koralia 1: 400 GPH
    • AquaC Remora Protein Skimmer x/MJ1200: ?? GPH (<295 GPH?)
    • Coralife MH/PC combo fixture: 150 w MH 130 w PC= 280 w total
    • Using RO/DI water from Bulk Reef system.

Total Flow: ~750 GPH (>750 GPH?)

    Parameters:

    • 78 degrees F
    • >8.0 pH (crappy Tetra test kit only approximates, planning on new kit)
    • 1.024 sg (refractometered)

    Questions:

The big question for me is a stocking plan to look ahead to. I really want a Flame Pygmy Angel with a mated clown pair of some sort, but is 30 gal. going to be big enough? From everything I have read it's maybe big enough, and it's an asset that this is a long tank. But I'd love to have other's input and of course this would be at least several months in the future.

Looking good! That's a lot of flow you got there mister  you might want to drop that temp down to about 79 degrees, 88 is what you'd need if you wanted to make stew;D

LOL!!! Total typo on my part, it's actually 78!! Changed the original post. HA!!!

I'm planning on having a lot of coral in there, hence the flow.
