Hey all dont know if im in the proper forum for this but here goes. Noticed last night that my starfish on all 5 arms the flesh was missing. looked like skeletal arms. I thought was dead but was curious and left it because it was still attached to the glass. This mornig i noticed it had moved accross the tank still attacged to the glass. so still alive right? has anyone encountered this? parameters are ok just that with this heatwave temperature been up to 85 deg i know too high but would this cause the issue with the star? or some other disease. I will try to post a pic later tonight (not at home at the moment). any imput would be appreciated thanks
    Anthony

Is something picking at it? A fish or invert?

Kindly list your parameters, they may yield clues to the problem.

Yes, how quickly did it go up to 85? A rapid change in parameters can be fatal, IMO. Also what size tank and how long has it been established?

I would guess the temperature, but the other parameters would help. Also whether it's been eating or not.

    parameters: salinity 1.025
    Temp 84
    Alk 10dkh
    Amonia 0
    Nitrite 0
Nitrate 20 (always been arround 20)
ph 7.8 (again always been a little low for cant get it to stay at 8)

these results have been typical for my setup and tank has been running for 1y and a half.
