It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Sometimes you have to blow off any algae or detritus that collects. Try increasing flow if the coral is in a lower flow area. My GSP liked mod to higher flow. I have had GSP stay closed for 2 weeks. As always check water chemistry as appropriate, including SG.

While I have GSP's in my DT, and I like them, You do know this sorta grows like a weed, right?

If you can keep it isolated, and don't let it spread to other rocks, wall, top, fish, water, etc., it can be kept under control, some.

I agree, unless something WAY off, it'll open/extend

I agree with all the above comments. Especially letting it grow on separate rock from all other corals.

If you lived down here I would gladly give you some.

Don't worry, it will come back fine. I irradicaticated all that stuff out of my tank and I still have a spot of it that survived. GSP can be really cool, just keep an eye on it. Like many stated, it grows like a weed. Keep away from any spots you have corals.
