I started a thread in the General Reef Forum about making them...well I made them and.....

I just put my standpipes in and one side is perfect, but the other side keeps fluctuating the water level in the over flow and making a big gurgling noise.

I made them both the exact same, they are both going into separate sumps on the bottom which are connected to each other to keep the water levels the same in each sump.

each sump has a Rio 3100 return pump.

What is causing one side to do this???

I tried to reem the hole a little and it didnt help!!!

    Thanks!

Does the bottom of the overflow plumbing go into the sump in the same way?

Did you say seperate sumps??? Are they connected?? If they are truly seperate, you are going to have problems balancing them. Hence the changing level and gurgling sound.
