    Help me out here guys my toadstool is looks fine up top but the stalk is discolored and brittle, rubbed it w/finger and it feels dry (not slimy) and flaky.
    Is this normal what do i need to do

    Hi Nugio,

    If your water params are all ok - it is probably just shedding skin which these critters are known to do periodically - Mine did also when first went into tank, maybe stress of new environment makes them want to change clothes.

    Personally, if I wasn't sure of my water conditions, I would do a significant water change as soon as possible just to make sure I did not have some toxin buildup from other corals.

    Thats the first thing i did. running carbon today, see if that helps.
    I would think that he would be all closed up if it were a acclamating issue but hes not so im hoping its a shedding issue
