How can you tell when SPS is dead? like acro's ? if they turned brownish does that mean they are dead?

Brown normally means they have just lost their color...happens often when just added to a tank or if the nutrient levels are too high in your tank...if they die and loose their tissue they generally turn bone white.

Might be lighting too. I've never had sps but I remember hearing that they can turn brown when they switching lighting types. Pretty much what Reef-a-holic said.

Yea...I knew that would be said sooner or later. It was more of a huh.. I wonder now that im thinking about it rather than being super worried. My lights are off and Im not overly concerned about it, It just kinda popped into my head randomly and figured I better post before I forget. haha tomorrow I'll snap some pics its just a tiny frag but its been brown forever a long time.. like months.

What kind of frag is it, and what type lighting system do you have? Also, have you noticed much growth in the months that you've had it?

I dont really know what kind it is, and I have six T5 HO bulbs and I haven't noticed any growth in it at all I thought it was dead.
