    200 gal tank then optimum flow from tank to sump and back to tank would be 800 to 900 GPH 4 x's is what I always shoot for through the sump skimmer needs time to do its job .

    So what are some of the commercial products based on aluminum? Never really looked into it... I think Seachem or Kent... not sure. There is some.... but I just use BRS GFO so never really looked.

    If the media is white, it's Aluminum based. If it's brown or black, it's Ferric Oxide based.
