sponge question

    I got a cool sponge on my live rock. I was wondering if I could put this in my refugium. It only has cheap leds do sponges need good light to live or are they filter feeders/

    Sorry on my home computer and I can only post pics with my phone.Its a light brown with swiss cheese holes all thru it it"s a little bigger than a quarter oblong in shape and about 3 inches long

    I'm almost certain you can place it there with no problem. Sponges grow on shaded/darker areas

    Vast majority of sponges will do fine in shaded areas. The one you describe sounds ideal for a sump.
