Keeping in mind that I live in a small city without a lot of selection, can you suggest a specimen fish that would do well in a 15 gallon fresh water tank ? I do not want an oscar. I've had those before. It would probably need a larger tank anyway. I'm open to any suggestions. ( a chiclid, a gold fish, whatever ) I'd like something colourful. It would be the sole occupant of the tank. Remember keep it simple. ( a more common fish )

    Thanks.

if your looking to get one fish in there betas are very nice looking but that's all you can have, but if you want more then one I have always liked tiger barbs orange or red ones.I guess its personal preference. Angles are also cool.

I have always been a fan of puffers, they do better in brackish for the most part, but all you have to do i s add some salt. They have great personalities.

I have a freshwater specimen tank that is home to an african clawed frog (and a snail). It's pretty neat. This frog lives exclusively in the water... doesn't need anything to get out...
