Sorry for the downtime tonight everybody. I was just starting to work on the new 3reef site which I have been working on nearly every day this month when I noted that I was behind on server updates.

So the smart thing I did was to do a massive server upgrade involving over 300 transactions on a Saturday night.

This of course went horribly wrong. A corrupted kernel on a Linux box that locks you out is a truly scary thing. All fixed now. Whew

Always expect the unexpected. Kudos for getting it back up. :)

BTW, which distro are you using? I prefer Xubuntu for my home network. :D

So my take from this was that you got the popcorn bowl too close to the server.

Thanks all. CentOS Mr. Bill. I will peek and poke around and learn a lesson here. And then I look forward to working on the new site again later today.

Is this the reason the search engine is no longer operating properly? Or did yesterday's Windows update screw with my Flash again?
