Hey Jason. Congrats on the Blasto. Looks great excellent polyp extension.

I just rescued a small blasto frag yesterday. My friend wanted to do some cleanup in his tank and he had this blasto that had some injured weaker polyps, so we took my dremel to the skeleton and pried the sucker in two. He kept the healthy piece. Now how do I get my piece to grow healthy again? The polyps are retracted and the skeleton surrounds the polyps for about 1/2 an inch.

I know it should do better in my tank. He had it under 2- 400watt MH's. I'm just running 130 watt PC's. Any other suggestions for helping the healing process? Research seems to be scarce on this species.

SHADE IT! 400W is way to much for LPS... They like particularly low light and low flow, even for lps.....I have been struggling with one that I got. A few polyps are not doing well at all....I have my fingers crossed!

Thanks for the tip birdlady. However he has done a great job at acclimating them to the intense light. He has all sorts of LPS in his tank frogspawn, large brains, bubble coral, and they are all under two bulbs of 20k 400 watt MH. They are by far the biggest and healthiest corals I have seen. So I think it has to do with how you acclimate them.

I however, have mine in my 20 Gal. Under the PC.
