dont be fooled by the pale look of the most recent digitata photo, its actually a vibrant red in real life...

 

Snap a pic of your tube anemones please. I have always been interested in trying a couple. How are they? Spread much? Do they walk? Etc etc....

 

will do..... they do not walk at all, once the body buried in the sand bed or under a rock it wont budge an inch, or at least mine have not. they tend to stay small during the day, but will however extend much further at night, probably due to a feeding response or to maximize light absorption... otherwise I find them dead easy to keep.

I dont target feed them and have seen them regularly catch suspended particles in the water column with their arms/tentacles and rapidly bring the food to their mouth, its pretty cool to watch actually... not long ago I bought a "huge" specimen (must have been a good 7-10 cm in diameter but in my tank it quickly shrunk to a much smaller size, same size as the other three actually and has not grown (or shrinked further) from its current size...

 

they are very "forgiving" anemones..... might also be worth saying that I have never seen any of my clowns (percula or ocellaris) take the slightest interest in them as a host... perhaps if it was the only other animal in the tank they might think about it but I doubt it. they are very sensative to touch and can retract into their tube in a fraction of a second should they feel threatened.

 

well, you've got yourself quite a reef tank there swiss! Corals are looking really good and love your tube anemones!
