I'm so bummed out. My gorgeous maxima clam is dead :(

I was so proud of the growth it displayed in my tank. It was 7 inches when I got it, and had about an inch of new growth on it since being in my tank for a few months.

The reason: My new tailspot blenny took a liking to him. http://www.3reef.com/forums/tropical-fish/mad-tailspot-blenny-95875.html#post977728

I moved the clam to the other side of the tank, where the blenny never goes, but it was too late. I noticed my tang nipping him last night and now today he is pretty much a goner.

    So depressed.

I'm so pissed at that fish!!! And trust me, my fish are not hungry. I don't know why he would start nipping it! I'm so mad. He is going into my fuge when I get it set up. No more fun, big tank for him.

After this started I did some Google research, and it looks like a lot of people have blennies eat their coral and/or clams. Grrrrr! My midas blenny is fine though, if you want one of those!

Thanks for the info. So maybe the blennies that do more swimming are the way to go.
