In my 2 1/2 GAL picco I have been seeing little white bugs walking on the glass and in the tanks old HC shells and on the frag plugs. They are very tiny about the size of a newly hatched brine shrimp. I don't think they are pods but there are alot of them. I cant get a pic too small.
I am gonna try to get a hold of one to look at in the microscope to get a better look.
I did just buy some new coral frags last weekend that had some gunk on the plugs. I didn't notice these things before the frags ?
    ANY IDeaS PLEASE ???

    getting a better look, kinda

It is hard to tell I dont think so. I just got my mag glass to get a better look. they have a little tail end and are about the same shape as your pic but without all the legs.
    maybe copepods?

This is the description of what I have
I believe this is the critter and I will paste the description

I suspect this is a Scud, a Gammarus shrimp (Gammaridean amphipods) that are beneficial detritivores and make tasty natural snacks for you livestock. They commonly hang out on hair algae.

probably some kinda amphipod--do a google image search on amphipod--there are alot of different pics--you are sure to find your critter--amphipods are generally good

Sorry to bump an old thread, but yes mine in fact do look just like that.

What do I have on my hands and is it a good / bad / indifferent thing to have?

Great thing to have. Natural food for your livestock, and helps to keep the tank clean.
