i have a large 400g planted tank with 7 adult discus in it all are fit thick and healthy apart from one who lays on its side (see other post) and one which is skinny.

now all water parameters are fine and i feed the tank twice daily on everything from beefheart, community dinner , discus dinner, bloodworm, brine shrimp, spinach, and my own mix inc other veg and fish matter.

all other discus are fat and happy but the thin one cant seem to get any thicker. it eats fine and is healthy apart from its weight.

any ideas on how to make it thicker/ treatment for somthing that is making it thin.

it is about 2 years old of which ive had it for one and it has always been skinny (i got it thrown in when i bought its larger mate)

Could be hole in the head disease, or intestinal flagellates. Feed vit-rich diet, and you might find a specialist if it's intestinal about "Fenbendazol" to see if that would help.

i dont think its hole in the head as the fish eats well, is already on a vit rich diet and has not external sores or ulcers let along a hole in its head. but i will look into the intestinal worms although am unsure how this fish could not have changed in size for so long if it were a serious infestation

You may not get it to get fat, it may not be predisposed to getting heavy.
