Done with overflow to sump, and float valve ready to be hooked up.

So the float valve is hooked up and the return chamber is watertite, after giving it time to fill and sit, the skimmer compartment remains dry.

So with the manifold installed, I've decided on a 90 for the return tubing, but didn't plan on that so I'll have to wait until tomorrow to pick up that 53-cent piece from the big box store, and then we'll continue.

I'm pretty happy with the fit and layout so far.

That's a good tip, Patrick, thanks! I'll probably wind up doing the same thing. You still loving this skimmer?

    :)

I'll see what I can do.

    :)

I've taken PackLeader's advice and I'm going to support the manifold off the pump. To do this I needed to raise it a bit to have room for a strap. With the additional height, having the hose barb straight up would make for an awkward bend in the plumbing, so I'm going to 90 right off the manifold.

I've rushed a job or two in the past, and the end product was always less than satisfactory. I'm going to do this right the first time this go 'round, and I'll be happier with the results.

I actually hook my drain tube right into the top of an empty 1/2 gal milk jug - easy enough to tell when to empty it :p

Looks great. Seems like the skimmer pulls good to. Did they make that manifold special with the 4 outlets? I would like to know where you got it again as I think this might help with a project im about to start. Can they do a 3 out instead of 4?
