skimmer question

    Why does my skimmer go crazy after replacing the filter sock? (not here to debate the filter sock idea) But why does the bubble production go crazy and it fills the cup with water, usually settles down after about 18-24 hours.

    my guess would be there is something on the sock that causes the water to foam very easily. so add your skimmer trying to produce foam and adding something else that foams easy i.e. soap and your skimmer would go nuts... just my thoughts

    when your replacing the sock does that mean your buying a new one or washing them? brand new socks if unrinsed will cause all sorts of problems. i wash my socks with a little bit of bleach in the washer then let air dry for a few days. no problems
