    Anyone know of any suppliers that sells them live? I have seen them frozen, but not live... let me know, i work at a LFS and have been trying to find some

    Silversides? As in te one's used for bait Silversides? Try going to a bait shop and see what you can find out.

    Well the silver sides im talking about are saltwater, I dont think any bait store in TN would sell salt water bait.... they are better for anemones and such because they have more nutrients and proteins that they need unlike freshwater feeders which lack some

    From a fishing standpoint I have never seen them "Sold" Live - only frozen.

    Down here where I live we can just go cast net them when we want them. When they're around.

    Why is it important to get them alive?

    They are really hard to keep them alive. A pain in the butt on the boat when you fill a castnet with them:bigcry:

    I wonder if Bass Pro Shops has them in that bait vending machine out front, that might be freshwater though?

    most of the ones your going to find are freshwater, even the frozen ones are packed in freshwater and frozen
    If you get them live they stink like hell btw ever smelled shad? their that bad

    yeah, all fish stink, especially when you have an abundance of them... i guess frozen is the way to go then... i thought they were saltwater
