hi guys just wondering what would cause a mushroom leathers (Sarcophyton sp) to develop a cut it started out about 5mm in diameter and is now spreading its almost 2 inches long, cant see any parasites or anything attacking it. the cut has like a brown scab type thing over it. i have tried getting a pic but the only time the mushroom has shrunk down enough to see the cut my lights are out so i cant get a decent pic.. any advice at all?

I suppose it could be splitting but I am not 100% sure.

Like Unclejed said it might be trying to asexually reproduce, w/o a clearer picture it is very hard to tell

    Good luck
