So I never did get around to carving my third theme. What I wanted to do was fill our empty 10g with some RO water, gut and carve a face into a pumpkin, and then put one of my old diving masks and snorkels on the pumpkin and put in two of our goldfish with it  I thought it would have been cool :) But too much work and not enough time made me back out on it.

Were you thinking of something like this? Video - Breaking News Videos from CNN.com

You definately don't want to slip and cut yourself with that knife.

Thanks! But it's nothing like yours! I can't believe the detail in yours, specially where it actually says happy halloween in the tree. How long did it take you? And how do you actually carve that intricately? Do you use a dremel or something?

The cat one took me about 2 hours and the tree about 3 hours. It was very hard and really tested my patience! Haha. To carve it I just used those cheap pumpkin carving knives kits available at the supermarket. I bought two kits and broke every knife in each one. Haha.

The trick or treaters were very impressed. I got a lot of complements!

Thanks for your nice words! :)

not a melon but my Dad carved this for halloween.

It is hard to get any sort of detail on a melon with a chainsaw so we opted for a log instead.
