So i just opend my vortech mp20 from tbaquatics. It was one of my christmas presents, i was so excited to get it up and running, and as i was installing it i noticed it came with a broken cord and the wires are showing. I have it plugged in and its working perfect but i just dont know if its worth returning and gettting a new one, its an expensive piece of equipment so i really should but if you guys think it would be ok i wont. Picture is a little bit blurry but you get the idea.

I would return it right away. What seems like minor stuff today can cause major probs later and then it might be too late to return. Jusy my 2 cents

I would contact Vortech directly. They will most likely send you a new one.

Where did you guys purchase yours?

i got mine from tbaquatics, great company. i always seem to have bad luck with equipment, between my skimmer not working right and now a broken cord. When i email vortech i'll try to get a better picture so they can see what happend, dont know how it broke like it did, unless something happend during shipping

Most likely the extreme cold and tight packaging. The cold they have had lately could make that rubber brittle. IIRC they are in Wisconsin.

Could easily turn into a fire hazard. Get a new one.
