Ok, here is the deal. I am moving in August and after my move I plan on selling almost all of my LPS and Soft corals and switching to a SPS only reef after my move. Well I have this Acropora that I have been growing since it was a wee little baby frag. Its my favorite coral by far and would like to know what you people would do. Would you leave it as is and have a really cool colony thats already growing well or would you frag it up so you have some cool corals to start the tank off with?

I'd leave it, unless you wanted frags to trade.

Leave it, it can become the new tank's centerpiece.

    I agree.

The fact that you already raised it from a tiny frag is reason enough for me.

Eventually an accidental frag will occur. Wait until then for the frag;)

Would you be fragging it to raise money for new corals?

thats a possibilty, but further down the road.. More that I wanted to get a good base of this beautiful acro spread through the tank and then eventually get some good frags from those to support the habit.

I added more pictures above to show different angles. I think I want to take like 2 or 3 small branches off of it for frags. Would I be jeopardizing the entire colony if I wanted to just take a few small branches off and leave the big ones..

Well, then I would frag it Charles, IMO, I would rather have a nice colony then several smaller frags. As mentioned already, you'll probably get an accidental frag anyways from moving it. That happened to me when I was messing with my tank, My arm hit my Green Slimer colony and broke a piece. So I just glued it to a plug.
