    Very cool pictures

PS. That's a mushroom coral, not a plate coral :)

Shew had me worried for a second. I was thinking hey I've got a plate and it's NEVER done that... ;D

A buddy of mine has a mushrom just like that and it will close up around his clown fish at night...

Baxter is that the "Plate" coral you were posting about feeding the other day? That's definitely not a Plate like amcarrig said. That would explain the problems you were having. Did your LFS tell you it's a Plate? What did they charge you for it?

Sorry, this is not a mushroom coral, this is a short tentacle plate. The Long Tentacle Plate has tentacles that are about 3 inches long. This is not a Toadstool or other leather. This coral is sometimes referred to as a mushroom, however, it is truly not.
    Plate/Disk Coral (Fungia sp.)

Please see descriptions at the following websites

No way that's a plate coral. it's a mushroom. If it were a plate it wouldn't be sticking to the side of that rock...

here's a plate coral in my tank
