My light fixture has started zapping me!

Any idea what to do about it? I'm assuming salt got up into it...

You need to make sure the ground wire is attached properly. Also make sure all wires are sealed. You will need to take the fixture apart to do this.

Could you elaborate a bit more on this? I am not very good with electricity...

    Thanks :)

most likely not a big deal in your case ..its mainly for in water electrical devices...but you could have something as simple as some heavy creep going to the water from your lights? just guessing...really need to find the ground fault..as 2in10 stated..most likely.

I'm thinking it's heavy creep. So I should open up the fixture and find the ground fault and make sure it looks ok? Will it be a red wire?

I wonder if I can find an instruction manual online or something...

..the ground is the black if its black and red wires...but thats not what I mean..The "fault" is in the ground loop somewhere...if you think its salt then that tells me you see a bunch of creep. I say ...just shut it down..clean all creep off of it and do a general look at everything..make sure all is clean and dry and attached properly..put it all back together and see if its ok...we could get into meters and such, but I believe you should start there...if you are not comfortable with this...by all means get someone who is..this is just my opinion.
