    name of seahorse is Hippocampus erectus


    I have no issue with buying Live food, but good point on the breeding nurseries I will check that out

    it apears that the breeder breads them in nets in the alantic. I have since found some seahorses that where breed by a individual and sold to a lfs. I have purchased 2 and seem to have gotten 3 out of the deal on very small black on that is hard to see even when you look at it.

    You know, any new seahorses require pictures to be posted!!;D
    Did you join the "org" yet? It would be the fastest place to get answers if problems develop, and be the best source of information to try to prevent problems from developing.

    I did get a seahorse from Reef2Go. Couldnt pass the price at $15 no shipping.

    Could be another reason for their early demise- they were cold-water horses. The tropical temp of a reef tank is usually too stressful for anything caught this far north.
