well, i maintain my kh at 8, coral pro has kh of 13, this might be an issue for me..... i do 5% WC every weekend.. 1 more thing, all coral pro salt mix says the amt of mag, cal and alk. where as seachem states everything whats there in the salt... here is the link... Seachem. Reef Salt

this is whats confusing me. if i increase my alk so high, im afraid i might loose my corals..

It doesnt seem like 5% would make too much difference. Do you keep chalices? I know they can be sensitive to alk swings.

I'd go with the red sea simce its what your tank is used to. I do freuent 15-20% water changes with it and i am yet to see any adverse effect from an alk swing.

Theres 140 gallons in my tank. I keep my alk 10.5-11, but lets say it was only 9.5. If i take out 20 gallons and replace it with water that has a dkh of 12, the resulting dkh is going to be only .35 higher. I could raise it that much just by dosing soda ash in the morning, only a water change is going to be more of a gradual increase.
