Seachem Purigen vs Chemi-Pure Elite?

    I am currently using Chemi-pure Elite, but i am just curious what is better?
    I am currently using biocube 29

    They are similar but different at the same time. Chemi-Pure Elite is carbon, some ion-exchange resins, and some GFO mixed in the same bag.

    Purigen is a type of chemical filtration that is different from the above.

    I like both products. I find that using a quality carbon further polished with some Purigen to be more efficient (and cheaper because the Purigen can be regenerated with plain ole bleach).

    I agree use both (i do). Put in some GFO too, I dont think the Elite has enough.

    +1 ^^^^^, I use carbon and GFO in a dual reactor and Purigen in a canister filter.

    they are both really good...switch back and forth for the best results!

    Just picked up 2 bags of Chemi-Pure Elite and a bag of Purigen today....should have no issue introducing both of these at the same time, correct?

    If your water was really, really dirty prior to the addition, the corals might get light shock. Just lower the photoperiod for a couple of days so the corals get used the increased lighting.

    Yes. If you have no corals, then there's nothing to worry about.

    Ok thanks. Could you explain to me why I would need to lower the lighting if I had corals?
