Scallop or clam?

    lol two ID's in one night.

    Well when trying to get pics of the black on my zoas i noticed this, it appears to be a filter feeder its pink and has a gaping mouth like in the pic, im thinking its either a scallop or filter feeder clam.

    Any ideas? And best pic i could get :D

    I'm not certain, but I think it is a scallop. Aren't clams normally broader, not as skinny? hard to tell. The pic is pretty fuzzy.

    yea i think your right ive had clams before the had a hard shell and normally brown in color i was leaning more towards scallop as well.

    yea my camera SUCKS that's it's micro setting, i tried my Iphone which takes better pics but cant zoom in.

    I would say it's neither... oyster :) Could be a clam (razor?) but my money is on oyster.

    third look makes me also think mussel but the pic is to hard to tell that from :(

    i'll try to find a pic online to see if i find anything close, i wonder if i can pry it off the zoas to get a better look and possibly take a better pic, it's in a really bad spot

    An oyster is actually a type of scallop.
